Skip Seen Reviews, Sign-ups, Purchases and Visitors

The Skip Seen option prevents visitors from seeing the same Social Proof notification more than once during their visit to your website. This helps keep your Nudges fresh and avoids repeating the same review, sign up, or purchase to the same visitor.

This option is available for Nudges that display individual reviews, sign ups, purchases, and visitors. You can enable it when adding or editing these Nudges.

How it works

When the Skip Seen option is turned on, Nudgify keeps track of which Social Proof items a visitor has already seen.

If the same item is about to appear again, Nudgify will automatically skip it and show the next available item instead. For example, if a visitor has already seen a specific review or purchase notification, Nudgify will display a different one instead. This helps show a wider variety of Social Proof to your visitors.

How long does it remember what a visitor has seen?

The Skip Seen setting works within a browsing session.

A session is defined as a continuous period of activity on your website where actions are no more than 1 hour apart.

This means:

  • If a visitor continues browsing your site without leaving for more than 1 hour, they stay in the same session and will not see the same Social Proof again.
  • If they leave your site and return after more than 1 hour, a new session starts and previously shown items may appear again.

Skip Seen Reviews

When adding or editing a Review Nudge, you can enable this feature by selecting Skip Seen Reviews.

If you add the same Review Nudge to multiple Streams, and the Skip Seen option is enabled in each one, they will work together. This means each unique review will only be shown once across all Streams and across your website during the session.

Skip Seen Sign Ups

When adding or editing a Sign Up Nudge, you can enable Skip Seen Sign Ups.

If the same Sign Up Nudge appears in multiple Streams and the option is enabled in each one, Nudgify will ensure that each unique sign up is only shown once per visitor during the session, even across different Streams.

Skip Seen Purchases

When adding or editing a Purchase Nudge, you can enable Skip Seen Purchases.

If Purchase Nudges are used in multiple Streams and this option is enabled in each one, Nudgify will still ensure that each unique purchase is only shown once per visitor across the entire website during the session.

Skip Seen Visitors

When adding or editing a Visitor Nudge, you can enable Skip Seen Visitors.

If Visitor Nudges are placed in multiple Streams with this option enabled, they will also work together so that each unique visitor notification is only shown once during the session, even across different Streams.
