Can I display the "Recent Sales Nudge" if I don’t have any sales yet?

The short answer is no. To maintain the trust of your shoppers and the integrity of your store, Nudgify only displays real, verified activity.

How it works

Nudgify is a "real-time" tool. This means it only begins recording events—like sales, sign-ups, or reviews—from the exact moment you install it.

  • Nudgify cannot "look back" at sales that happened before the app was added to your site.
  • If you have just installed Nudgify, the Recent Sales Nudge will remain hidden until your first new sale occurs. As soon as a customer completes a purchase, the Nudge will automatically go live!

Why can't I use "fake" data?

While it might be tempting to use "dummy" data to look busy, we don't allow fake social proof.

  • Genuine social proof is only effective if it's honest. If a shopper realizes a notification is fake, it can permanently damage your brand's reputation.
  • Real notifications create a genuine "buzz" that actually encourages people to buy.

What should I use in the meantime?

If you are a new store or have low sales volume, you don't have to wait to see results! We recommend using these Nudges to build social proof immediately:

  • Popularity Nudge: Shows how many people are currently browsing your site (great for new stores!).
  • Review Nudge: Connect your Google or Trustpilot reviews to show existing feedback.
  • Custom Nudge: Create your own message to highlight a discount code, a "Free Shipping" offer, or a "Welcome" note.
